Batik Swimshorts (Kids)

Comprised of more than 17,000 islands, Indonesia has the longest coastline in the world and boasts incredible biodiversity. Batik is a traditional Indonesian textile design which uses wax and dyes to create beautiful patterns. We wanted to celebrate this art form and chose a 'Sekar Jagad' (Flowers of the Universe) motif that represents interconnectedness - something evident to us as we travelled through a country of distant islands and diverse religions and sub-cultures. In this design we celebrate the islands and volcanoes, waves and spices that have been central to the history of this incredible country.
